The first-place ribbons Georgia Hicks held in her hands were a little deceiving. Based on her success at the opening day of the Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows on Thursday, it would seem she has been around dog shows for a long time. It was there she met Sandy Dodge and quickly discovered the two had more in common than just their medical histories. For the past five years, the two Pasadena women have been traveling the country showing mini and toy poodles at shows two to three times a month. For Hicks, the animals that were once just her companions are now her life. Along with taking her own dogs to shows, Hicks is a handler and breeder. She owns 30 dogs, all of which she keeps at her house.
